The widgets on Classroomscreen are not staying in place when I switch devices. Is there a way to fix this issue?

If you notice that widgets are shifting from their place when you change devices or project onto your whiteboard, we can offer a solution for this issue. To resolve this, you may need to switch from 'Fill screen' (which is set as the current default) to a 'Fixed' screen aspect ratio option - either 4:3 or 16:9.

Screen aspect ratio

Via the Options menu on your screen, click on Settings to access the list of all available screen aspect ratios and choose from 'Fixed 4:3', or 'Fixed 16:9' to modify the proportional relationship of your Classroomscreen display. Once you click on your preferred fixed screen aspect ratio, this choice will automatically be applied to the screen you are currently using.

To prevent encountering this issue again with new screens, you can adjust your "Default aspect ratio" to one of the fixed aspect ratios. The default aspect ratio is then automatically applied to new screens you create.

When to choose which aspect ratio

Fill screen

Recommended when you mainly use Classroomscreen on the same screen with the same screen size.

This option is set as the current default. Your browser window will be covered completely by what you are displaying in Classroomscreen. If you notice a shifting of widgets while in this mode, please select one of the 'fixed' options (either 4:3 or 16:9) to implement ratios that will not adjust the proportion of your display.

Fixed 4:3

Recommended when you use Classroomscreen on different screens / screen sizes.

This option will adjust the size of your Classroomscreen display making the appearance of your background resemble a square shape. There will be borders on the left and right side or at the top and bottom of your screen, which can be considered empty, unusable, space when creating your screen/placing widgets.

Fixed 16:9

Recommended when you use Classroomscreen on different screens / screen sizes.

This option will adjust the size of your Classroomscreen display making the appearance of your background resemble a rectangle shape. There will be borders on the left and right side or at the top and bottom of your screen, which can be considered empty, unusable, space when creating your screen/placing widgets.

After you have this set, you may need to properly rearrange the widgets on your screen one more time in the correct positions. Once that is modified, it will be displayed correctly on any device from that moment onwards. We recommend setting the fixed screen aspect ratio as the default for new screens.

Collection aspect ratio

Once you have adjusted the screen aspect ratio for the current screen, you can click 'Apply to all screens' if you would like your preference to be applied to every screen within the current collection.
