How to Stop Auto-Reload/Refresh in Chrome Browser Tabs?

If you have a basic account, you don't want your browser to keep refreshing the web page.

In some cases, Google Chrome decides to refresh your browser tab but you can prevent this from happening by visiting chrome://discards via your Google Chrome browser.

The example below shows a list of active tabs that can be modified to disable the auto-reload option. Under Auto Discardable, beside the Classroomscreen tab title, click toggle and an X will appear. Discards also provide the Site Engagement Score and Reactivation Score, which helps Chrome understand the inactive site for auto-reload.

If you close the chrome browser and relaunch, then Auto Discardable is re-enabled for the site. Although the setting is not permanent in this case, it will be maintained as long as you keep Chrome active.
