Share collections of screens with a public link
Update November 2024
Welcome to sharing! We've worked hard on this much-anticipated feature and are *so* excited to release this update to all the Classroomscreen teachers, now you can publish your work and easily share it with others.
With sharing, you can ensure that students, teachers, and administrators have access to your work when they need it. You can access sharing from different locations in your account, choose what information you will share, and modify or disable the permissions of the collections that you've shared. Depending on what type of account you have, sharing options will vary.
Without an account or with a Basic account, you will be able to use and edit screens from collections that are shared with you but, you will not be able to share with others.
With a Pro account, you will be able to use, edit, save, and share collections of screens.
How to access sharing
Dashboard
In your dashboard, the sharing feature will be accessible within each collection. Via the collection options menu, you can click on 'share collection' to get started.
Widget screen
From your widget screen, the sharing feature will be accessible (for that specific collection), via the screen options menu. You can click on 'share collection' to get started.
How to create a public link
Managing privacy
Once you've selected 'share collection', from either your dashboard or your widget screen, a small window will appear. From here, you will be able to decide what information you want to share - you can toggle on/off to include any name lists or images and backgrounds that are used in that collection to ensure privacy.
If you are including name lists and/or backgrounds and images, make sure you're allowed to publicly share this data.
Now that you are ready to share that collection, click on 'create public link'.
Managing permissions
Next, you'll be able to choose if you want to modify the permissions of that collection to 'view' or 'view & duplicate'.
- When choosing "View", users are not able to make a copy of your collection and import it to their own account. They can only see your collection in view-only mode.
- If you instead want to allow others to make a duplicate for themself and let them edit it, then the "View & duplicate" option should be chosen.
Finally, just click 'copy link' and send it along! If you change your mind after you've shared a collection, no problem - just click the 'disable public link' button and access will no longer be possible for anyone with the link.
The recipient of the public link cannot make any adjustments to your screen.
Use a fixed aspect ratio
If you share screens that have a "Fill screen" aspect ratio, you will see the warning below. It is highly recommended to create the screens you share in a fixed aspect ratio, for example, 16:9 or 4:3. With these fixed aspect ratios, you ensure that the recipients of your screens import the screen in the exact dimensions you used to create the screen.

Open collection from a public link
If you open the public link, you will always first enter the view-only mode of the screen. In this mode, you cannot make any edits or start any interaction with the widget.
Refresh
If the owner of the screen makes a change, you can retrieve the latest version of the screen in the collection using the refresh button in the top bar.
Edit
If the owner has allowed duplication, you can make a copy and then make edits to the copy.
Without an account or with a Basic account, you will be able to use and edit screens from collections that are shared with you but, you will not be able to share with others.
With a Pro account, you will be able to use, edit, save, and share collections of screens.
Want to share a single screen?
If you are looking for a way to create a single screen, we recommend creating a collection with just the single screen that you want to share.
